Everyone associated with Chelsea was cheering on West Ham on Friday night as they took on Tottenham.

Spurs knew that they couldn’t afford any slip-ups as they trailed the Blues by four points in the title race.

However, the Hammers effectively killed Spurs’ dreams of winning the league by beating them 1-0 putting Chelsea on the brink of glory.

West Ham’s victory means Chelsea are four points clear with a game in hand. When you consider their remaining fixtures - Middlesbrough (H), West Brom (A), Watford (H) and Sunderland (H) - it would take something incredible for them to throw it away now.

While West Ham probably weren’t too keen to virtually secure the title for Chelsea, they would have thoroughly enjoyed ending Spurs’ title chances.

And manager Slaven Bilic had some extra motivation from Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic.

What Matic text Bilic

That’s because Bilic has revealed what Matic text him before the clash against Spurs.

“If you stop Tottenham, I’ll take you out to dinner,” Bilic told Sport Klub, per The Sun.

“Matic is a wonderful guy, a great player.

"I will accept that [offer] with pleasure."

So Bilic will now enjoy a lovely dinner courtesy of Matic.

Of course, it’s not the first time West Ham have haunted Spurs’ season. Back in 2006, Spurs needed to beat West Ham at Upton Park on the final day of the season to finish fourth and above Arsenal.

However, after several Tottenham players went down with food poisoning, they fell to a 2-1 loss allowing the Gunners to pip them to qualify for the Champions League.
