Ronda Rousey is arguably one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time. It's hard to argue against that fact as her work inside the Octagon over the years has allowed Women's MMA to reach new heights.

Rowdy has slipped out of the spotlight recently after suffering back-to-back losses in UFC against Holly Holm in November 2015 and Amanda Nunes in December, losing the UFC Women's Bantamweight championship in the process.

Since her last loss to Nunes, there have been talks about her possibly retiring from MMA completely, but whatever decision she makes, many will regard her as the best female fighters of her generation.

However, not everyone agrees with their statement, and they have their reasons for doing so. Today Online recently spoke to UFC Middleweight fighter Gegard Mousasi, who said he believes Rousey's time is over, and that he doesn't believe she is the best female fighter in the business.

Mousasi said: “I think she has a lot of money (Rousey boasts an estimated net worth of US$12 million (S$16.7m)) — she doesn’t need to fight. She’s a good fighter, she has the mentality of a fighter, but she doesn’t have the skills of a stand-up fighter.

“How can the media make her one of the best fighters when she can’t even kick or punch? That’s like (tennis star) Serena Williams (playing) without a backhand. How do they make her the greatest fighter of all time?”

Mousasi makes this point because both of Rousey's defeats in MMA have come via some form of knockout (KO via head kick and punches vs Holm, TKO via punches vs Nunes).

Considering she is unable to withstand a punch as evident from her last two fights when she never had truly been hit before in a fight, it's clear why some people have trouble regarding her as the best female fighter ever.

The records Rousey has in UFC and MMA can't be taken away from here though, so she is definitely one of the greatest fighters of all-time, and the sport is certainly going to miss her if she has stepped inside the Octagon for the last time in her career.
