It usually takes time for a wrestling gimmick to be created and tried out with fans, and it takes even longer for a wrestler to find a gimmick that works and goes down a treat with fans.Sami Zayn, real name Rami Sebei, is a huge fan favorite in the WWE due to his high-risk maneuvers and wrestling skill inside the ring as The Underdog from the Underground. He's a main event level wrestler fighting most of the time at the mid-card level and fans absolutely love him. Many know before he arrived in the WWE, Zayn had a gimmick as a masked wrestler called El Generico during his time on the independent circuit, which was also a great hit with the fans. However, he even had a gimmick before that that many might not know about.

Prior to being known as Sami Zayn and El Generico, Sebei performed under the name of Big Larry, and it's not exactly a gimmick which WWE will allow him to revive in the company anytime soon. It's probably not a gimmick Sami is proud of either.

As you can see in the first tweet below, for this gimmick, Zayn used to come down to the ring to the song 'CB4 - I'm Black Y'all' and acted as a black stereotype during his promos as you can see in the second tweet. WARNING: Contains offensive language.

It's safe to say we won't be seeing this in the WWE anytime soon, but anyone that thought this gimmick would be fine to do probably needs to get their head checked.

Sami Zayn's future

As for Zayn in the WWE, he is yet to have a match booked for Backlash, SmackDown Live's first pay-per-view since WrestleMania 33, although that could all change between now and the day of the show on May 21.

Recent speculation and booking of The Underdog from the Underground on SmackDown are suggesting he will face Baron Corbin in a match at the show, a clash he would likely lose as WWE continues to build up The Lone Wolf as a main eventer and challenger for the WWE championship later this year.

Zayn is then rumored to be having a feud and rematch with Shinsuke Nakamura at SummerSlam later this year after the two faced off for the first time over a year ago at NXT TakeOver: Dallas, which was Sami's last match in NXT and Nakamura's first.
