Dana White isn't worried about his former middleweight kingpin retiring from mixed martial arts (MMA) competition.

Earlier this week Anderson Silva took to The MMA Hour to voice his frustrations with the current state of the UFC and took aim at president Dana White for his handling of recent situations.

Silva was recently scheduled to take on Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 212 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from his native Brazil, however, Gastelum was removed from the contest after being flagged by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

'The Spider' is now calling for an interim middleweight title bout against No. 1-ranked Yoel Romero as a result and has threatened to retire if it is not granted. After having saved the UFC's rear-end on multiple occasions, Silva believes he deserves this bout with the Cuban.

TMZ recently caught up with Dana White to get his reaction to Silva's comments, to which he stated that if the former 185-pound king truly is considering retiring, then maybe he should (quotes via FOX Sports):

“Every time, for the last however many years, dealing with Anderson it’s always interesting. You know obviously he wants an interim title, obviously we’re not going to do an interim title,” White said.

“He’s definitely coming out publicly…and you know my philosophy on that, if you ever say the ‘R’ word, you should probably do it anyway.

“If you’re considering retirement, you should probably do it.”

White doesn't believe he or the UFC is at fault for anything and simply believes Silva is angry because his bout with Gastelum fell through:

“We will not do an interim title. No, it won’t happen,” White said. “Bisping’s ready, willing and able to fight the actual No. 1 contender, who’s Yoel Romero.

"I mean Anderson Silva’s ranked No. 7 right now. If he was willing to take the Romero fight for June because he was supposed to fight Kelvin Gastelum.

“Anderson’s mad. I didn’t pull Kelvin Gastelum out. Kelvin Gastelum smoked weed and now he got busted and we’ve done everything we could to make another fight for Anderson. So it’s nothing we did.”

"So it’s nothing we did.”

Indeed it's not the UFC's fault for the bout between Silva and Gastelum falling out, however, Silva does deserve this for everything he has done for the promotion. It appears as though that will go unappreciated.
