Tranmere goalkeeper Joe Collister has signed a two-year professional contract.

The 17-year-old played the full 90 minutes of Rovers` home pre-season friendly against Preston on Saturday, making a number of fine saves including a late penalty stop.

Youth coach Shaun Garnett said: "Joe showed he is a good goalkeeper against Preston at the weekend. If he works hard and has the right attitude he could have a bright future in the game.

"It is fantastic to see another player come through the centre of excellence and youth team to sign a professional contract."
