Colchester midfielder Johnnie Jackson is heading for the exit door at the Community Stadium after handing in a transfer request.

The former Tottenham trainee was left out of the Us squad for Tuesday night's 2-2 friendly draw with Aston Villa and has now joined defender Phil Ifil on the transfer list.

"Johnnie Jackson and Phil Ifil both want to leave the football club,"confirmed boss Paul Lambert.

"Nobody is guaranteed anything. I don't want Johnnie to go but he is not happy and his agent has asked if he can go."

Scott Vernon and Ashley Vincent put the Us 2-0 up against Villa, but Steve Sidwell and Adam McGurk dragged the Premier League side level.
