Yeovil boss Terry Skiverton has swooped to sign teenage Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy on loan until January.

Skiverton was impressed by 19-year-old shot-stopper McCarthy in Tuesday night's friendly against Derby and again when he saw him in action for the Royals' reserves at Bromley on Thursday night.

McCarthy is currently fourth choice at the Madejski Stadium and has previous league experience while on loan with Aldershot last season.
