Oldham have revealed the injury sustained by midfielder Dean Furman in training is not serious.

The summer signing from Rangers was ruled out of Saturday's 2-1 defeat against Sunderland after picking up a knock on Friday.

Furman was taken to hospital for a scan, but the South African has been given the all clear to return to training and could face Middlesbrough on Wednesday night.

Striker Pawel Abbott was on target for the Latics from the penalty spot against Steve Bruce's side at Boundary Park.
