Notts County hope to make five more signings before the start of the season.

The League Two club, who were taken over by Middle East consortium Munto Finance this month, have already signed eight new players this summer.

"I'd love to get another five players and I`d love to get another striker," said Magpies manager Ian McParland.

"I want a really strong squad so they are all fighting for their places. If we get a couple of injuries, we need to have good players who can step in," he added.

"I'm where I want us to be as far as the fitness of the lads and how hard they are working and the team spirit, but I'm a few players short at the moment and hopefully we might get a couple in.

"I hope it will be this week but you never know."
