Nottingham Forest have confirmed they are to appeal against the red card Luke Chambers received against Reading on the opening day of the Coca-Cola Championship season.

The defender was sent off after 88 minutes of Saturday`s goalless draw at the Madejski Stadium following a clash with Royals striker Shane Long.

Reds boss Billy Davies felt Chambers had been harshly dealt with at the time, and after reviewing video footage of the incident the Scot has decided to try to get the decision overturned.
