Charlton have signed former Sheffield Wednesday winger Wade Small on a non-contract basis.

The 25-year-old, who is a free agent after leaving Hillsborough at the end of last term, trained with the Addicks over the summer and appeared in a number of pre-season friendlies.

Small will go straight into manager Phil Parkinson's injury-hit squad for Tuesday night's Carling Cup trip to Hereford.
