Brentford have made a new approach to sign Carlisle winger Cleveland Taylor.

The 25-year-old submitted a transfer request in the summer and was a target for the Bees in pre-season.

Taylor played for the Cumbrians in Saturday's defeat to the Londoners and Abbott revealed the Griffin Park outfit are still keen to sign the former Scunthorpe man.

"An enquiry was lodged by Brentford and that's something that we are all aware of." Abbott told the club's official website.

"If we can do something with that then we will look at it, but it isn't about Cleveland in a situation like this.

"The club comes first on this one. He will move when I am ready for him to move, so he has to work behind me a little bit on this."
