Plymouth have signed striker Alan Gow from Rangers for an undisclosed fee but he will not be available for Saturday's Coca-Cola Championship match against QPR.

Gow, 26, joins Argyle on a two-year-deal and will be available for Tuesday night's home game against Cardiff.

"He's the same type of player as Paul Gallagher and I'm sure he will be a quality player for us," Pilgrims boss Paul Sturrock told his club's official website,

"He has tasted the Championship with Blackpool and Norwich last season and he did very well for them. Offensively, I'm sure he will be an excellent addition to us."
