Southampton remain on minus nine points after they went down 3-1 at Huddersfield.

Jordan Rhodes's penalty was saved but he knocked in the re-bound (50) and then put the hosts in front (68) after Rickie Lambert (53) had made it 1-1. Antony Kay (82) wrapped things up late on.

Oldham remain unbeaten after a 2-1 win at Leyton Orient, where Pawel Abbott scored twice.

Stockport went down 2-0 at home to Bristol Rovers following early goals from Jo Kuffour (3) and Danny Cole (8).

An injury-time penalty from Sam Parkin saw 10-man Walsall grab a point in a four-goal thriller against Southend at Bescot Stadium.

Steve Jones (11) gave the hosts an early lead, before midfielder Dwayne Mattis was shown a red card on the hour after a second booking.

Lee Barnard (66) and Dougie Freedman (80) put the visitors ahead, only for Parkin to have the final word in stoppage time after being fouled by Southend substitute Lee Sawyer.

There was, though, no such excitement in the matches between Millwall and Carlisle, Swindon against MK Dons and Brentford versus Brighton, which all finished goalless.
