Macclesfield have signed Leicester striker Ricky Sappleton on loan until the end of December.

The forward began his career at QPR and had trials with Middlesbrough and Liverpool before joining Leicester in summer of 2007.

He made his only senior appearance for the Foxes to date in his first season, coming off the bench to replace Carl Cort in the second half of a 2-1 Championship defeat to Southampton.

Sappleton, who could feature in the Silkmen's home clash with Rotherham this weekend, said: "I'm pleased to be here and I'm looking forward to playing games and hopefully getting some goals."
