Barnsley defender Luke Potter will be out for around six weeks having successfully undergone a knee operation.

The 20-year-old saw his knee swell up following the club`s 2-1 Carling Cup triumph over Reading on August 25. He underwent surgery on Thursday and Barnsley physio Chris Burton told the club's official website the procedure was a success.

"Luke underwent an operation on a torn medial meniscus," he said. "Everything went well and he should be back in six weeks."
