Dagenham boss John Still has confirmed that he expects to sign former Gillingham midfielder Danny Spiller in time to face Chesterfield on Saturday.

Spiller joined up with Wycombe on non-contract terms earlier this season but is poised to sign a deal with the Daggers until Christmas.

Still said: "He's a very, very good player and I am taking him on a short-term contract."

He added: "He has trained well, he has a good attitude and it's a win, win situation for both parties.

"It might be on his mind that if he is playing regularly, he might get back to a higher level, and I understand that."
