Crystal Palace captain Shaun Derry admitted the postponement of the club's clash at QPR suited him down to the ground.
Torrential rain meant the London derby between the Eagles and QPR was called off due to a waterlogged pitch and Derry, who was expected to make his 500th career appearance, is now looking forward to achieving the milestone in Saturday's home encounter with Derby.
He told the Daily Star: "The game being called off is frustrating in that we have to wait longer to get the 4-0 defeat against Scunthorpe out of our system. But personally it works out quite well for me because it means I get to make my 500th appearance at Selhurst Park."
He added: "I'm sure more of my family will come to watch me on a Saturday afternoon than a Tuesday night.
"It means I can celebrate with my wife in the evening instead of travelling back from Loftus Road."
