Andrew Wright made a premature return from injury for Scunthorpe's reserve side on Wednesday night.

The defender was expected to miss three months with a broken metatarsal but completed his comeback eight weeks ahead of schedule as the second string lost 3-2 to Grimsby.

Wright was joined in the starting line-up by defender Kenny Milne, who has yet to make a senior appearance for the club since joining in the summer of 2008 due to a knee injury.

The Scot is still building up his fitness and is not expected to figure for the first team for some time, although Wright could come into contention for the weekend trip to Bristol City.
