Rotherham have confirmed that Ronnie Moore is to return to the club as their new manager.

The 56-year-old Liverpudlian, who has been out of work since being sacked by Tranmere in June, will be unveiled at a press conference at 10.30am on Friday.

Moore proved a success in his first spell at the club, guiding the South Yorkshire outfit to the second tier after back-to-back promotions in 2000 and 2001.

He left the Millers in 2005 after eight years at the helm to join Oldham, but left Boundary Park after just 15 months to join the Latics' League One rivals Tranmere.

Moore almost guided Rovers into the League One play-offs last season, but was dismissed by the club in the summer.

The Millers have been withouth a manager since Mark Robins left to become Barnsley boss earlier this month.
