Former Scotland international Scott Dobie struck just five minutes after coming on as a substitute as struggling Carlisle held Coca-Cola League One table-topping Leeds to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road.
Dobie, who also scored as a replacement against Southampton on Saturday, cancelled out Jermaine Beckford's opener to end the home side's 100% home record in the league.
Second-placed Charlton suffered a worse setback, going down 3-0 at Colchester, with two goals from Kayode Odejayi and an own goal from Miguel Angel Llera.
Bristol Rovers almost made it a winless day for the top three but were rescued by Andy Williams' 90th-minute winner in the 3-2 victory at Southampton.
MK Dons will be disappointed with a 2-1 reverse at Oldham, while Huddersfield lost by the same scoreline away to Walsall.
Richard Logan scored three minutes from time to give Exeter a 1-1 draw at home to Swindon, with Norwich hammering Leyton Orient 4-0.
All of those goals came in a frantic final 15 minutes, with four different scores netting for the Canaries.
There was another 90th-minute winner at Brentford, where Kevin O'Connor completed a brace to down Southend.
Hartlepool and Stockport drew 2-2 at Edgeley Park, while Tranmere defeated Wycombe 1-0 in front of their own fans.
In the final League One clash, Millwall fought out a goalless draw with Yeovil.
