Great Balls of Fire was a very memorable event for the superstars of RAW and the 30-minute Ironman match between the Hardy Boyz and Sheamus and Cesaro was considered a show stopper.

The two teams battled to a gruelling 4-3 finish to the RAW Tag Team Champions, but the Hardy's fell one second short of the pinfall that would of tied the match up.

A breaking experience

The Hardys came up short on Sunday, but a facial injury to Matt Hardy had fans claiming that he had been 'broken'.

The Broken Hardy gimmick is something fans are desperate to see in WWE and week after week, Matt Hardy makes several nods to his old persona.

The gimmick hasn't fully arrived on RAW however no matter how much the fans chant and hope to see it.

Monday's episode of RAW however was the closest the gimmick has come to appearing within WWE as Matt and Jeff discussed their loss at Great Balls of Fire.

Jeff made the first reference to it when he put special emphasis on one of their old catchphrases in the word 'obsolete'.

The fans in attendance reacted very well to Jeff's small prompt so when Matt took to the mic, they were interested to see what he had to see.

As expected, Matt had several prompts that he could make including claiming that he had a proclamation to make.

His biggest prompt however came when they were joined by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows who claimed that the Hardys were old.

Matt would challenge the two to a match despite the fact that they were "a little bit broken".

Officially broken Hardys?

If the Hardy's loss at Great Balls of Fire didn't completely break them, then Monday's episode of RAW surely did.

Anderson and Gallows would manage to defeat the battered Hardy'sand leave them laying in the ring, but the torment wouldn't end there for Team Extreme.

While Gallows and Anderson made their way up the ramp, the Revival would take the chance to return to RAW.

The hard hitting duo would head straight to the ring and continue the punishment on Matt and Jeff.

Truly a broken team, the Hardy's had a rough night on RAW and with their many prompts to a return to their popular gimmick, who knows just what is on the horizon for the Hardy Boyz?
