Ukrainian legend Wladimir Klitschko is set for a sensational rematch with Anthony Joshua on the grandest stage of them all - Las Vegas.

In April of this year, Joshua welcomed Klitschko to Wembley, winning by TKO in the 11th round in front of 90,000 jubilant fans inside the stadium.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has already flown to Las Vegas to push the fight ahead, but the question remains as to whether Klitschko is open to the fight, with Joshua feeling buoyant about the opportunity.

“Vegas, it is the mecca of boxing and this is an opportunity,” Joshua said. 

“Does he have the motivation? I think Vegas will get his blood boiling again."

Several venues along Vegas’ strip have already been mentioned, including the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Mandalay Bay, and T-Mobile Arena.

Other locations touted with potential for the fight include Cardiff, Nigeria, and Dubai.

Joshua has never fought professionally outside the UK, so a fight in Cardiff (at the Principality stadium) would likely appeal.

However, it is thought Klitschko would not be tempted by a fight so similar to the pair’s previous Wembley encounter.

With all that Klitschko has achieved, 64 wins from 69 fights including 53 KOs, his presence demands the grandest spectacle.

Joshua’s comparatively brief career, 19 fights, 19 wins all by KO, mean he is still proving himself beside one of the all-time greats. 

Managers Freddie Cunningham (Joshua) and Bernd Bonte (Klitschko) are likely to see mutual benefits in the Las Vegas showstopper.

Joshua, having never fought outside the UK professionally, can solidify his global presence.

An Olympic gold medallist, IBF, IBO, and WBA super heavyweight champion, Joshua is now a blockbuster commodity in the world of boxing. This is his time to light up Las Vegas.

Klitschko, on the other hand, hasn’t fought in Vegas since defeating DaVarryl Williamson at Caesar’s Palace in 2004.

What better swansong for the 41-year-old than ‘the mecca of boxing’?
