The superfight of the year is just one month away.

Earlier this year it was announced that UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor will be making his professional boxing debut against, arguably, the greatest to ever lace up a pair of gloves, Floyd Mayweather Jr. The fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 26th, it will be 12 rounds with each man wearing 10 ounce gloves.

Mayweather has been retired for some time now since his 2015 unanimous decision win over Andre Berto. He retired at a record 49-0 that tied the record for best undefeated boxing record in the history of the sport.

Now "Money" will be putting his undefeated legacy on the line against "Notorious" who brings a ton of unpredictability to the table given that he has never stepped into the boxing ring as a competitor before. The fight has faced much criticism, as many are calling it nothing more than a money grab by the combat sports world's two biggest stars.

Yesterday a report surfaced that the only reason Mayweather accepted this fight was due to the fact that he owes a ton of money to the IRS for not having paid his taxes.

TMZ recently caught up with Conor McGregor to respond to these reports, to which the UFC's 155-pound champ replied that Floyd should've stayed retired and kept his name out of his mouth (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“I don’t give a f*ck what he did,” McGregor said while shopping in Beverly Hills. “I don’t give a f*ck. I don’t care what he done. He should've stayed retired. He’s f*cked now. That’s the god’s honest truth. He should have paid his taxes and stayed retire. And kept my name out of his f*cking mouth.”

As for the price of the pay-per-view (PPV) of Mayweather vs. McGregor, it has been announced that fans will have to pay $100 to order the event in HD. When asked about the set price for the event, the Irishman said it should cost even more:

“It should be $120,” he said.

Mayweather's financial woes have come as a bit of a surprise, given that the former boxing champ's brand is built around him having nothing but money. McGregor was asked if he is being wise with his money so he doesn't end up in a similar situation:

“How does it look, mate?” McGregor said. “I’m on Rodeo Drive, blowing through f*cking loads of it. Nah, I don’t know. I’ll be smart.”
