Manny Pacquiao and his team submitted a request for his loss to Jeff Horn to be looked at again by the powers that be.

At first, it didn't seem likely that they actually would look at the scores again, but the WBO did order a review of the scores that gave Horn the win.

After a review by independent and anonymous judges, the WBO said that the decision stayed the same, with Horn winning seven rounds to Pacquiao's five.

Pacquiao gave his opinion on the matter, saying that "nothing surprises [him] now."

"We have seen worse judgements in the past where judges manipulated results. Nothing surprises me now.

"Let the people judge for themselves. People saw what happened."

It sounds like Pacquiao still doesn't believe he lost and that Horn was allowed to get away with illegal tactics during the fight.

Although they ordered a review of the fight, the WBO made it clear that they couldn't reverse the decision unless the fraud or the violation of boxing law accusations were proven true.

This means that Horn's tactics were not illegal in the eyes of all involved at the WBO.

The Filipino sports regulatory board, who called for the review, released a statement today about the WBO's ruling, thanking them for their looking into the fight at all.

"No matter what review they do, it will be hard to change the result as the referee didn't call it close.

"The judges' scores would have greatly changed if the referee did his job properly.

"He [referee] didn't give Manny Pacquiao the respect and fair protection that is due to a people's champ."

Horn, however, welcomed the WBO's ruling of his victory as the evidence anyone needs for his victory.

"It's definitely nice to have it finally put on paper."

Horn was keen for a rematch to prove himself the true victor against Pacquiao, but has been happy enough just to see his victory properly verified by the boxing authorities.

It's unknown if Pacquiao is willing to enter into a rematch against Horn now. After his last loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr., Pacquiao briefly retired from the game to enter into a world of politics.

It will be interesting to see what he does now after his loss against Horn has been confirmed by the WBO - he did have plans to fight Mayweather again, who is set to fight Conor McGregor in a huge crossover bout on August 26.
