One of the most surprising moves of the NBA offseason so far has been Paul George's trade from the Indiana Pacers to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The four-time NBA All-Star was sent to the Thunder by the Pacers in exchange for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis in a trade that literally came out of nowhere, as many expected George to be playing his basketball next season for the Los Angeles Lakers before this trade came in.

Nevertheless, George is now part of Oklahoma City, and he couldn't be happier.

The 27-year-old said, according to ESPN: "It was surprising. This team wasn't one of the teams that we had in mind. I thought I was going to four or five other teams that were pretty active in trade [talks]. When I found out it was OKC, I was quite surprised, but at the same time I was happy about the trade. I was thrilled, I was looking forward to it.

"All I wanted was a chance and an opportunity to play for something special and ultimately to try and win a championship, and right off the bat I think I can do that here playing alongside Russ."

Playing alongside Russell Westbrook is certainly going to be one of the challenges George is going to have to overcome if he wants to have success and win an NBA Championship with the Thunder.

The last star forward who played for Oklahoma City was Kevin Durant, and he found it difficult to play alongside the ball-dominant point guard. However, although he knows about their relationship, he is trying to keep an open mind.

George said, according to NBC Sports: "What KD and Russ had, from my understanding, was nothing major. Guys, brothers necessarily – you fight. This is a job where you want the best out of everybody, and you’re going to bump heads. That’s as far as I know – and as far as I care to know – about their relationship."

The Thunder can't have any repeats of Westbrook's relationship with Durant with George if they are to win an NBA Championship with him at the team this season before he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

It certainly doesn't look like they'll have any problems with working alongside one another, and Thunder fans are certainly looking forward to seeing them both play together on the court next season.
