Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer today secured his eighth Wimbledon title and it appears that the 35-year-old superstar was well prepared for victory.He became the first ever male player to win eight Wimbledon championships and showed up to his post-match press conference in a Nike top which read 'Ro8er'.Federer won his 19th Grand Slam title on Sunday afternoon after breezing past Marin Cilic 6-3, 6-1, 6-4 in the final.Widely considered the greatest tennis player of all time, Federer played the whole Wimbledon championship without dropping a set.He took six months off in 2016 and, since returning, has won the Australian Open and Wimbledon after previously going almost five years without a Grand Slam win.Nike had predicted victory for Federer and he was decked out in an excellent new 'Ro8er' t-shirt in his press conference.He's had more success at Wimbledon than any other Grand Slam and will undoubtedly be one of the favourites next summer despite his age.Speaking to Sue Barker on court after today's victory, Federer joked that he may have to keep on taking more time away from tennis, if he continues being this successful.‘I’ve got to take more time off,’ he joked. ‘I’m not sure it’ll work this well every time I come back."Roger Federer's fanatic fans are already desperate to get their hands on his latest piece of Nike merchandise.

Marin Cilic, suffering with a blister, fought through the pain to finish the game but never looked capable of causing damage to Federer.

The Croatian was in tears in the second set and explained why following his first ever Wimbledon final appearance.

“It was just a feeling that I knew that I cannot give my best on the court, that I cannot give my best game and my best tennis, especially at this stage of my career and at such a big match,” he said.

“It was very, very difficult to deal with it, and that was the only thing. But otherwise, it didn’t hurt so much that it was putting me in tears. It was just that feeling that I wasn’t able to give the best.”
