Ever since their surprising break-up some years ago, fans have been calling for a Shield reunion after Seth Rollins stabbed Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in the back by hitting them with a steel chair.

The Architect enjoyed the success since embarking on a singles career, as it saw him become Mr. Money in the Bank before creating one of the greatest WrestleMania moments by cashing it in to become WWE Champion.

THE SHIELD

Since then, his stock has fallen slightly as not many are invested in his face run as opposed to the incredible work he did as a treacherous heel.

So, when he, Reigns and Ambrose ended up on the same roster on Monday Night RAW during the superstar shake-up, it was only a matter of time before everyone started calling for a Shield reunion once again.

The Kingslayer didn’t rule it out when he spoke to GiveMeSport, claiming that they’re currently focused on their singles ambitions but if a threat emerged, then they would don the infamous vests once again and we could see them walk through the sea of fans.

There has been plenty of speculation over the past few weeks that we could see a reunion take place relatively soon, and it’s something that Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has discussed too.

REUNION?

Sadly, Meltzer revealed that seeing the three of them reunite at SummerSlam probably won’t be happening.

Although, he has claimed that we could finally see Ambrose and Rollins team up in Brooklyn, something we haven’t seen much of on television since The Shield imploded.

Current plans have them either going up against Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas of The Miztourage, or they could compete in a two-on-three handicap match which would also include The Miz.

For The Big Dog, his plans on the night could see him in the Universal Championship match, with rumours suggesting that Brock Lesnar will be defending his title in a Fatal Four-Way match which will also feature Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe.

While Meltzer believes the three won’t reunite, you can’t completely rule that out as it’s obvious the ratings would increase if fans are treated to that spectacle.

Not only that, but aligning Reigns with Rollins and Ambrose again could get some more fans on his side, as opposed to the nuclear heat he’s currently receiving.

Reigns is busy, Ambrose has rejected the notion of forming the group as Rollins can’t be trusted – perhaps WWE could be stretching this one out a little longer.
