Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink became a Chelsea hero during his four years at Stamford Bridge.

The Dutchman scored a rather impressive 70 goals in 136 Premier League matches for the Blues, becoming a cult hero in the process.

Hasselbaink was renowned for his strength and power as a striker - not necessarily his pace.

However, that didn’t stop him from taking part in the parent's race at his daughter’s school sports day.

Hasselbaink lined up against several over dads at the start of a 100 metre track.

In the crowd was former Chelsea teammate John Terry and, luckily for us, the Aston Villa defender was filming the race.

Why is it lucky for us? Well, because Hasselbaink took an almighty tumble at the finish line to clinch the gold medal - whilst looking rather embarrassed at the same time.

Terry uploaded the video on Instagram saying: “'When @official_jfhasselbaink decided to run in the Dads race at school. The nervous look after his tumble to see if I was filming.”

After looking up after his fall, Hasselbaink would have seen Terry filming the whole incident with a huge grin on his face.

While Hasselbaink has been retired since his spell with Cardiff City during the 2007/08 season, Terry is preparing for a campaign with Aston Villa having left Chelsea this summer.

The 36-year-old played his first game for the Villains on Saturday but couldn’t prevent them from losing 2-1 to Shrewsbury.

One of Terry’s biggest weaknesses throughout his career has been his pace and, at the age of 36, the centre-back is probably slower than ever.

It’s for that reason, that Terry didn’t want to take part in the parent's race himself in the fear that he’d finish last.

Even if he did come last, surely he wouldn’t have looked as foolish as Hasselbaink did - despite him seemingly winning the race.
