Gary Johnson is confident his Bristol City side can mount a challenge for promotion after they beat Plymouth 3-1.
Danny Haynes opened the floodgates in what had previously been an uninspiring derby by volleying in Jamie McAllister's left-wing cross after 73 minutes. Jamie Mackie equalised soon after, but Jamie McCombe and Nicky Maynard struck to ensure the Robins sit just a point outside the top six in ninth place.
The Robins boss said: "We are keeping ourselves on the coat-tails of the leaders and I still believe we have the squad to maintain a challenge."
Johnson, who twice altered his formation in an effort to break down the stubborn visitors, added: "I didn't think we did enough in the first half to deserve to be in front, but the lads kept going and it became a bit of a chess match with us changing our playing pattern to try to outwit them."
