Port Vale manager Micky Adams has seen his squad hit by a virus that has resulted in several players missing training.
Adams` preparations for Saturday`s clash against Cheltenham have been severely disrupted and, as it stands, it is unclear how many members of his squad will be out of contention.
Marc Richards, Kris Taylor, Lee Collins, John McCombe and Ross Davidson are among those who have been taken ill, with others also reporting symptoms.
Adams told the club`s official website: "This is something we can`t account for so it`s just a case of waiting and hoping people will be available.
"Training has obviously been disrupted enormously and we have deliberately kept people away from the ground on Wednesday so no-one else catches anything.
"We will have to assess the situation on Thursday and try and prepare for the game in the best way we possibly can."
