Double deal for Shrews

Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson has bolstered his ranks with the addition of month-long loan signings Jamie Devitt and Waide Fairhurst.

Winger Devitt arrives from Premier League side Hull but in fact scored against Shrews last weekend while on loan at Darlington, netting the Quakers` equaliser in their 2-1 victory.

Striker Fairhurst comes to the Prostar from Doncaster, where in his first year as a professional he has scored two Championship goals in four appearances, two of which have come from the bench.

Simpson was keen to add to his threadbare squad having seen his charges put in a lifeless performance at Accrington in midweek on their way out of the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy.

He told the club`s official website: "I`m delighted to get two fresh faces in to help bolster our squad and hopefully add a little more spark."
