Whenever a team trades away a superstar, the fanbase is going to be upset, as Chicago Bulls fans were earlier this summer when their team shipped star forward Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, the Bulls' situation is special because Chicago fans are growing increasingly frustrated with team president John Paxson and general manager Gar Forman after years of questionable trades and free-agent signings. The Butler trade has seemingly pushed Bulls fans past their breaking point, as they are now making it clear they want both Paxson and Forman gone.As you can see in the tweet below, a billboard in the city is now calling for the front office executives to lose their jobs, complete with a #FireGarPax hashtag:

That's an extreme step from a tortured fanbase that hasn't seen their team reach the NBA Finals since Michael Jordan retired for the second time after the 1998 NBA Finals. Ironically, Paxson was a member of the Bulls' first title three-peat from 1991 to 1993, but his goodwill in the Windy City has clearly run out.

To add insult to injury, Paxson's Wikipedia page was also updated with a fake quote about him being dumb and needing to be fired, along with Forman:

Obviously, Paxson has never said anything even remotely close to that, but that's the beauty of Wikipedia. As of Thursday morning, however, the fake quote had been removed.

After the Butler trade, Paxson tried his best to explain his actions to the Chicago Sun-Times, but clearly the fans responsible for the billboard weren't satisfied with his response:

“It wasn’t so much about watching anything in the playoffs as really this was the first opportunity we felt the deal presented itself that made sense,’’ Paxson said. “I said at the trade deadline this past year that we needed a certainty in terms of jump-starting this thing. When you talk about certainty, you talk about young players, draft picks, that give you a leg up on it.

“That presented itself late [Thursday].’’

Paxson continued by saying the team is entering a rebuilding mode, which obviously is only going to further anger fans of the Bulls:

“It is rebuilding,’’ Paxson said. “There’s going to be a lot of bumps along the road.’’

The Bulls only barely made the playoffs last season, finishing 41-41 and earning the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They won the first two games against the No. 1-seeded Boston Celtics, but lost the next four and were eliminated.

Without Butler, though, even earning the No. 8 seed next season will be difficult. If Chicago misses the playoffs, fans may get their wish and Forman and Paxson may both be fired.
