You just can’t take your eyes off the transfer window at the moment.
It seems all of the Premier League’s top sides are hell-bent on spending big this summer and AC Milan are on their own personal transfer binge in Italy. You can’t fault it for entertainment, that’s for sure.
However, no reported move has attracted quite as much attention as Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain.

While the amount of substance behind the story remains debated, the saga has refused to die in spite of the lucrative fees involved. The Brazilian’s release clause is a dizzying £195 million, after all.
GloboEsporte are even reporting that the forward has told close friends that he is in fact moving to Paris. Moreover, as per the Daily Mail, PSG had to wrestle away moves from Manchester United and Chelsea in the early stages of interest.
Then again, Neymar’s dad has expressed his son’s desire to remain at the Nou Camp and the club themselves have rubbished such rumours.
And breathe. It’s fair to say the situation is somewhat convoluted and it’s hard to know whom to believe.
In most transfers, however, there is usually contact with a current player at the side that can often play a prominent role in proceedings. This was certainly the case with Romelu Lukaku’s Manchester United switch and the sweet-talking of Paul Pogba.
Furthermore, to say PSG have a strong Brazilian contingent would be putting it mildly with Maqruinhos, Lucas Moura and Dani Alves all donning the navy jersey.
Thiago Silva has been the most vocal and involved compatriot, though, and his Instagram activity has made his intentions crystal clear. The veteran centre back appears rather keen to link up with the Barca star, no doubt about it.
Take a look below:
Silva piled in with 66,000 others at the site of ‘esporteinterativo’ superimposing Neymar in a PSG shirt, alongside the club’s fellow Brazilians. Even since this was flagged, the defender hasn’t unliked the post.
So, while it far from delivers any groundbreaking updates on the story, it shows Silva could play a large role going forward. He is clearly excited by the thought of Neymar moving so could plot a few persuasive texts along the way.
When asked about the issue, as per Sport, he said: “Neymar in Paris? I don’t know.
“I’ve heard a lot of journalists talking but at the minute there is nothing concrete although I think it is important for the PSG project.”
“If he comes, it will be good for the group.”
Draw what you like from his Instagram activity and comments but if nothing else, it shows that the whole episode is more than mere rumours. Only time will tell whether Silva will see Neymar in PSG colours without the aid of Photoshop, next time.
