As many players around the NBA are getting traded and finding new homes, New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is still stuck in the Big Apple.

Though the talented forward has said he'll waive his no-trade clause to go to the Cleveland Cavaliers or Houston Rockets, nothing has materialized as of late.

Facing another season in New York, though, wouldn't be in the best interest of either Anthony or the Knicks, as the player-team relationship has been strained in recent years.

In fact, even Knicks legend Walt "Clyde" Frazier said it would probably be in everybody's best interests if Anthony played somewhere else next season (via ESPN.com):

"I think right now there’s too much bad blood," Frazier said. "But Melo has to know that this is a business. There’s nothing personal. I told the kids I got traded. I was with the Knicks for 10 years. They traded me to Cleveland. I was devastated but I know this is how it works. I knew when they traded Wilt Chamberlain, anybody could be traded ... . From that point on, I knew that anyone was vulnerable to be traded.

"It’s a business so Melo knows that. He can’t hold a grudge that the Knicks tried to trade him. Come on, man. That’s how the game goes. But right now it seems like he’s not willing to sacrifice to come back to the team.”

Those are strong words from the legendary Knick, but they are accurate, as Anthony is clearly no longer happy in New York.

After missing the playoffs again last year, Anthony needs to move on if he wants to have a chance at making a deep playoff run while he's still at the end of his prime. If he stays in New York, he may see his career come to a close without ever again playing in a meaningful game in May.

Melo is good friends with LeBron James and Chris Paul, which is why the Cavs and Rockets are likely the only teams he'll waive his no-trade clause for. However, the Portland Trail Blazers have also expressed interest in him and are an intriguing option, too.

For now, though, NBA fans are left waiting for more news to break on the potential trade, as the Cavs and Rockets don't seem to be in a huge hurry to make a move for Anthony. Something will likely happen before the start of the 2017-18 season, but it may take a few more weeks yet.
