After Chelsea's 3-0 victory over Arsenal in a friendly on Saturday, Blues fans were convinced they are set to take the Premier League by storm once again next season. However, after a 3-2 defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday - a game where they were 3-0 down at one stage - predictions have become less bold and friendlies are all of a sudden not important.A Rafinha strike and a brace from Thomas Muller gave Bayern a commanding lead against the English champions, but the Blues would respond through Marcos Alonso and later, Michy Batshuayi.Muller stole the initial headlines with his second goal of the game in China. The free-scoring midfielder curled in a magnificent effort from around 30 yards out to leave Thibaut Courtois helpless.New striker Alvaro Morata, fresh off his £60 million move from Real Madrid, played the last 27 minutes of the friendly to make his Blues debut. It didn't take long for the Spanish international to make his mark in a Chelsea shirt as he played a key role in Batshuayi's strike to make the score 3-2.From a Cesc Fabregas corner, the former Juventus man made his way to the near post and won the vital flick-on that left his Belgian teammate in space to score. Check the video out below:Ahead of the game, Morata spoke of how special it is to him that he is able to wear the number nine shirt for his new club.“When I was little I watched with my dad and it is incredible, a lot of goals and fast matches and I really want to play here,” Morata told the club’s official website.“When I was little I saw Didier Drogba, Andriy Shevchenko, Fernando Torres and thought probably in a few years I will take this place, and now it is the dream to take the Chelsea number 9 shirt.

“I can’t wait to play at Stamford Bridge and in the Premier League.”

His new boss, Antonio Conte, also reserved special praise for his new man and will be delighted with the impact he made in such a short cameo.

"Morata is a young player who has a lot of experience in his career because he played with two big teams in Real Madrid and Juventus," Conte said.

"He has also played a lot of games in the Champions League and won it last season.

"He can have a big impact in the Premier League.

"It’s different if you compare it to leagues in other countries because it’s very tough and physically it’s strong, but Morata is ready to have a big impact."
