Liverpool's 3-0 pre-season victory over Hertha Berlin was the perfect opportunity for Jurgen Klopp to utilise his squad ahead of another tough Premier League campaign. The season is less than two weeks away and, with a few new signings, the German boss would have been desperate to work out his perfect formula. And given the end result, it was a fair reflection of a satisfying afternoon for Liverpool as they looked to build up fitness and form.Klopp is hoping there will be more new faces through the door come the end of August, when the transfer window closes, but his new additions have already impressed.Philippe Coutinho provided a wonderful assist from his own half for Mohamed Salah to continue his promising form in pre-season so far, while fellow new arrival Dominic Solanke opened the scoring.

Reds doing shrewd business

Liverpool may not have spent as much as the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea so far this summer, but their business appears to have been shrewd.

At just 19, there's a firm belief the former Chelsea academy star Solanke will grow to fulfil the excellent potential he has already shown in his career so far, at Anfield.

While the Reds' continued interest in Salah, after the forward snubbed Liverpool to join Chelsea in 2014, appears to have paid off given how he's performed so far.

However, while many of the Reds' key men were given plenty of minutes in both halves against Hertha Berlin on Sunday, Andrew Robertson was restricted to a second-half display.

The young Scotland international arrived for £10 million from Hull City little more than a week ago, as one of the club's lower profile signings of the summer.

Klopp heaps praise on Robertson

But that hasn't stopped the left-back from largely impressing Jurgen Klopp already, who heaped praise on the 23-year-old following victory at the Olympiastadion.

"Andy has unbelievable potential, I am really looking forward to seeing him develop," said Klopp after the match.

Shirts may not fly off the shelves with his name of just yet, but while Liverpool fans may not know too much about their new addition, Klopp is confident Roberston will be a hit at Anfield.

His arrival will allow James Milner to assume his natural midfield role this season, having played the last campaign at left-back, ahead of Alberto Moreno.
