The Hardys may be on the brink of bringing, arguably, the most famous gimmick in professional wrestling to WWE.Matt and Jeff Hardy first signed with WWE 1998 where they were members of The New Brood and began feuding with the teams of Edge and Christian as well as The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley). They soon transitioned into Team Xtreme and begun being accompanied by Matt's then real-life girlfriend Lita. The brothers split as a tag team in 2002 and Jeff began a toxic relationship with WWE for the next few years due to his issues with drugs.Around 2010 both men found themselves working for WWE's top competitor, Global Force Wrestling (GFW) (formerly known as TNA or Impact Wrestling) as they won multiple Tag Team Titles while inventing the gimmick that would change their careers forever - the "Broken" gimmick. The "Broken" Hardys began their Expedition For Gold in 2014, traveling the independent circuit and capturing Tag Team Championships across the world. After a tremendous run with the company, The Hardys decided to depart from GFW in February after their contracts expired. Originally it was believed that The Hardys would sign on with Ring Of Honor (ROH) as they were putting on some great matches with The Young Bucks.Unfortunately, GFW issued a cease and desist order to pay-per-view (PPV) providers for the ROH 15th Anniversary in which they said The Hardys were unable to use the "Broken" gimmick on ROH programming because it was GFW's intellectual property. After dropping the ROH Tag Team Titles to The Young Bucks at the Supercard Of Honor XI PPV, The Hardys made a surprise return to WWE at WrestleMania 33 in a Fatal Four-Way Ladder Match for the RAW Tag Team Championships. The Hardys won the match, and although they were unable to use their beloved "Broken" gimmick, Matt still used a few chants and mannerisms from the gimmick. For months now The Hardys and GFW have been embroiled in a legal battle over ownership rights for the gimmick, and after Matt and Jeff's latest actions following last night's RAW, they may have sealed the deal. The following video was taken following The Hardys win over Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, in which Matt said he felt ‘REVIVED’ AND ‘AWOKEN’:

Matt also took to Twitter saying “IT’S HAPPENING. #BROKEN” making WWE fans go nuts:
