One rumored match will not be taking place at SummerSlam.

It’s well known by now that WWE is going to be pushing former NXT Tag Team Champion Jason Jordan in a big way now that he is on the Raw brand after being revealed as the illegitimate son of WWE Hall of Famer and Raw General Manager Kurt Angle.

It was reported that the company is planning to put him in the picture for the Intercontinental Title, which is currently held by The Miz. WWE had him do a segment with The Miz recently on Monday Night Raw that saw Jordan suplex Miz onto Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. This was expected to be the start of their program.

WWE most likely booked this segment in order to set up a possible feud between the two Superstars for this month's SummerSlam PPV (pay-per-view) event for the Intercontinental Title.

It appears that WWE has ended the rivalry involving Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose as they defeated Miz alongside Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas in a 2-on-3 Handicap match on Raw a few week's ago. As seen on this past week’s Raw, Seth Rollins wrestled Raw Tag Team Champion Sheamus in a singles match.

With WWE playing up the fact that Rollins and Ambrose could become a tag team, the company will most likely book Rollins and Ambrose against Sheamus and Cesaro for the Tag Team Titles at SummerSlam.

Although it appears that WWE would book Jordan against The Miz at SummerSlam, that is not the case. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com notes that the match is not in the current plans for the event. The belief within WWE is that the match will happen at some point, but the company is not in a rush to book the match too soon.

Now, the question of who will The Miz wrestle at the event comes up. It’s possible that Miz is not even booked on the show and the company will use him a different way. The event is scheduled to take place on August 20th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. This event will have a four-hour main card with a two-hour pre-show.
