UFC legend Conor McGregor, who has never taken part in a boxing match during his career, will face unbeaten boxing giant Floyd Mayweather in just over three weeks time.

That’s right, August 26 will see undefeated Mayweather, who has 21 years of boxing experience under his belt, take on a man who has never taken part in the sport.

It’s clear to see who the favourite is though, right?

Obviously, at 1/6, it is the boxing legend who has been tipped to come out on top with McGregor only backed at 4/1.

However, the Irishman is so confident of overturning unbeaten Mayweather that he is going to place a hefty bet on himself.

According to reports, ‘The Notorious’ is prepared to risk €1 million and is urging his pals to put their cash on him too, labelling it as ‘easy money.’

Although this could be no more than a rumour, let’s not put it past him, he isn’t one to shy away from ridiculous antics, is he?

Confidence is clearly flowing out of team McGregor, but the camp did endure a setback on Friday in their preparations for the fight as the Irishman’s sparring partner Paulie Malignaggi will no longer be working with him.

The former world champion claimed to have felt ‘exploited’, but didn’t release too much information as to why he walked out, although in a statement released on social media, he did say he will speak about the things that upset him ‘in time.’

It is thought to be the pictures circling of McGregor and Malignaggi’s sparring session that has caused the uproar, seemingly painting the 36-year-old in a weak and negative light.

However, McGregor’s focus will undoubtedly be to claim victory in his debut boxing fight in Las Vegas and potentially receive a hefty return if he is to place a €1 million bet on himself.
