WWE may have to make some changes to the SummerSlam card.

It’s well known by now that former Raw Women’s Champion Bayley was recently injured and it happened at the worst possible time. As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, she competed in a singles match against Nia Jax. It was a stiff match, to say the least, and as a result of that style, Bayley was injured during the match.

WWE announced earlier this week in an article on their official website that Bayley, who is set to challenge Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Title at the upcoming Summerslam PPV (pay-per-view) event later this month in Brooklyn, New York on the WWE Network, suffered a right shoulder injury during the match. Her status for the upcoming title match is currently up in the air.

WWE’s story read, “Bayley has been told to rest the shoulder until next week, at which point doctors are hopeful that the swelling will have sufficiently gone down so that she may be reevaluated and a firm verdict can be reached.”

On Friday, the company released a video to their YouTube channel to give fans an update on how she is doing. WWE teases that her Summerslam match is in jeopardy.

“We can confirm she will undergo a final medical evaluation this coming Monday before Raw in Toronto. However, her title match against Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam for the Raw women’s championship is now in jeopardy.”

If the injury is serious, then WWE may have to make some changes to the lineup for SummerSlam and have someone replace Bayley in the upcoming title match against Bliss. It will be interesting to see how all of this shakes out. A possible replacement for Bayley if the injury is serious is Nia Jax.

WWE has been teasing tension between Jax and Bliss so that could be something to keep an eye on going forward. With Summerslam set to take place in a few weeks, WWE will have to act quickly about this situation, and we should find out what they plan on doing in the next week or so. Hopefully, the injury is not serious.
