Throughout the history of the NBA, most of the greatest players have shared one particular quality - from Michael Jordan to Magic Johnson to LeBron James and countless others.

That quality is that they make their teammates better. Whether demanding more of them in practice or setting them up with beautiful passes, there are many ways to make other players look better.

The Los Angeles Lakers hope they have their next Magic Johnson in former UCLA star Lonzo Ball, who they selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

GIVEMESPORT will broadcast live coverage of the US PGA Championship on Facebook from 10-13 August. Live coverage starts Thursday 10 August, 18:00-00:15 HERE.

Even Ball's teammates are excited, as forward Larry Nance Jr. recently told TMZ Sports that he can't wait to see how much Ball helps Los Angeles this season:

"He's gonna make everybody better," Nance responds before walking away from the cameraman.

Nance was also asked if he'd caught any lobs from Ball, but simply smiled and didn't answer that question. However, it's safe to say the talented dunker will benefit greatly from having Ball feeding him passes.

Nance isn't the only one excited about having Ball in a Lakers uniform. Magic Johnson, the player many expect Ball to model his game after, is now the team president and told USA TODAY during this year's Summer League that he thinks Ball has some special qualities:

“Lonzo is special, no question about it, because he makes everyone better,” Johnson said. “He does something you can’t teach. He gives you a scoring pass. Very few point guards in the league can do that. … I like him because he also is now a great teammate. He has a special effect on people."

Ball was named the MVP of the Summer League, despite missing the championship game with a minor injury. He showed flashes of brilliance, turning in two triple-doubles and a slew of other promising performances.

Though the Lakers are probably still a year away from playoff contention, Johnson added that he expects Ball's presence to make Los Angeles more fun this season:

“We are already better,” Johnson said. “I tell you what, I would not want to miss a Lakers game this season. It’s going to be exciting every single night.”

After going 26-56 last season, it shouldn't be too much of a stretch for Ball to help Los Angeles improve on that record during the 2017-18 season. Having Johnson around to perhaps help him adjust to life in the NBA will only serve to make Ball an even better player as a rookie this fall.
