Northern Ireland striker Warren Feeney plans to leave Cardiff in the January transfer window.

Feeney has only made one substitute appearance for the Bluebirds this season since recovering from a hip injury, which scuppered a summer move to Leeds. Now the 28-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Dundee United, is desperate to move to secure first-team football.

"I was gutted over the summer with what happened but I am not one to sit back and look at the past, these things happen in football," he told the Belfast Telegraph.

"The window is coming up in January and we'll see what happens there and take things on in the New Year.

"I want to get out there and I need to get playing to feel good about myself again. I've another six weeks to go and then I'll be looking to get something sorted out."
