The agent of Julio Baptista has brushed aside reports linking his client with a move to Tottenham in the winter transfer window.

According to reports in Italy, Roma are keen on Spurs' wantaway striker Roman Pavlyuchenko and are ready to offer Baptista in return for the Russian.

"There is no truth in these reports claiming he is set for an exchange in January," Herminio Menendez told

"Julio is currently away with the national side.

"Any possible discussion is postponed until the future."

The former Arsenal forward has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico since the summer.

Baptista scored nine goals in 27 league appearances for the Giallorossi last season.

However, he has struggled in his second campaign in Rome and has yet to find the back of the net in five Serie A appearances.

The 28-year-old is under contract with Roma until June 2012.
