Sead Kolasinac has wasted no time in making an impact at Arsenal.

The left-back, who arrived on a free transfer from Schalke in the summer, scored the equaliser for the Gunners en route to their shootout win over Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday.

Left-back has been a position of inconsistency for Arsenal ever since Ashley Cole’s departure in 2006 but it would now seem as if they’ve found their man.

One thing that immediately stands out when watching the 24-year-old is his physique. The Destroyer, The Tank and The Bosnian Hulk are all nicknames that have been thrown Kolasinac’s way during his career and his build should serve him very well in the Premier League.

“He is physical, very strong, naturally,” Arsene Wenger said about Kolasinac, per FourFourTwo.

“You have players who are pumped up on the gym and you have players who are born strong. He is the second part.”

Theo Walcott's warning

When you compare Kolasinac’s figure to those who have played at left-back for Arsenal, including Kieran Gibbs, Nacho Monreal and Cohen Bramall, it’s easy to see why the club’s fans are excited at finally having some bulk in the squad.

And Gunners forward Theo Walcott has delivered a warning to Arsenal’s opponents by explaining just how difficult Kolasinac is to beat.

As a right-sided player, Walcott has been tasked with going up against the full-back in training. And by the sounds of it, the 28-year-old has had enough of the battle.

“Trust me, he’s not easy to get around – he’s quite wide,” Walcott said, per the Telegraph.

“For the Premier League, he’s absolutely perfect. He’s one tough unit to get past and I’m sure his physical attributes are going to be key to us this season.

“He’s going to show something different and he’s going to get fitter, stronger and quicker. This league is the best and I think he could be one of the best in this league.”

Walcott: 'He's an absolute tank'

The praise continued when Walcott was asked to discuss Kolasinac’s physique.

“An absolute tank,” the England international added. “Honestly, he is an absolute animal. He’s incredible.

“I see him in the gym every day and you can just tell he looks after himself well. He eats the right food and he’s professional. You can see the power he’s got when he’s got the ball with his pace and everything.

“It’s beautiful to watch and he’s a great addition to the squad.”

It’s early days, but Kolasinac looks set to be one to watch this season.
