Dembele's friend has teased Barça move

The world of transfers has changed immensely over the past few years, thanks in no small part to social media, and one of Dembele’s friends may have just confirmed his move to Barça.

Barcelona fans spotted that Dembele’s friend, who goes by ‘moouss23’ on Instagram, has posted a cryptic message that reads: ‘Se firma’, or ‘He signed’ in English.

And, to further excite Barça fans, ‘moouss23’ has started following FC Barcelona on Instagram.

Who needs journalists when you’ve got inside information from Dembele’s pal?

One look at his Instagram page shows you that he is pretty close to Dembele.

Of course, it’s by no means a certainty that the 20-year-old will sign for Barcelona. But you can understand why Barça fans are getting excited.

Dembele was terrific for BVB last season, his first season in the Bundesliga following a move from Rennes, and is destined to become a superstar.

England witnessed first hand just what the youngster is capable of with a brilliant performance in France’s 3-2 win over Gareth Southgate’s side in June.

But he won’t come cheap. Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke revealed that the German club could even turn down an offer of €100m.

When asked about a possible €100m fee, he said, per FourFourTwo: "In every case, not enough."

Watzke went on to cite the case of Wolfsburg, who have struggled despite receiving £54.5m for Kevin de Bruyne in 2015, as proof that selling for high fees isn’t always a good idea.

"I remember Kevin de Bruyne, he was the Bundesliga's record transfer,” Watzke added.

“When you see the years after, it was not the best transfer though as the team lost lots of quality."
