Shinsuke Nakamura is riding high these days.

It’s well known by now that WWE booked a #1 contender match between John Cena and Nakamura in the main event of last week’s episode of SmackDown Live in Cleveland, OH at the Quicken Loans Arena on the USA Network.

Nakamura ended up winning the match and will now challenge Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship at the upcoming SummerSlam PPV (pay-per-view) event.

WWE did not have him wrestle on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live in Toronto, Canada at the Air Canada Centre. Instead, they had him do a sit-down interview with Renee Young that was taped earlier that day to talk about facing Mahal at the event. However, he did work the dark match after 205 Live went off the air on WWE’s streaming service, WWE Network.

The match saw Nakamura team up with WWE United States Champion AJ Styles to take on Baron Corbin and Kevin Owens in a Toronto Street Fight. The finish of the match saw Styles hit Owens with the Phenomenal Forearm and Nakamura delivering the Kinshasa to Corbin for the win. Corbin was also speared through a table and accidentally hit Owens with a chair during the match.

After the match had ended, Nakamura and Styles were celebrating with some fans at ringside. During this celebration, Nakamura took the cell phone of someone in the front row in order to take a selfie. This led to Nakamura pretending to steal the phone before giving it back to the ringside fan. You can watch the video here:

SummerSlam takes place on August 20th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets. Both Raw and SmackDown rosters will be featured on the card. Other matches featured on the card include Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe in a Universal Championship Fatal 4-Way Match, Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton vs. Rusev, and John Cena vs. Corbin. This will be a four-hour main card with a two hour kickoff show.
