Southampton fans must be fed up of Liverpool signing all their best players every summer. In recent years, the Reds have snapped up Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne and Sadio Mane from the south-coast club. And earlier this summer they attempted to add Virgil van Dijk to their ranks, only to hastily end their pursuit after being accused by Southampton of making an illegal approach for their captain.Van Dijk, however, has had his head turned and remains determined to leave St Mary’s this summer. If Southampton decide to cash-in on the 26-year-old centre-back, Liverpool will be at the front of the queue, chequebook in hand. The Merseyside outfit have been accused by football fans of showing a lack of imagination when it comes to signings.Surely there’s only so many players they can sign from the same club.

Southampton broke their transfer record this week

Despite losing many of their most talented players to Liverpool, though, Southampton always seem to replace them with quality additions.

Earlier this week they announced the club-record signing of Mario Lemina, who has signed a five-year deal with the Saints after completing his £18 million move from Juventus.

The Gabon midfielder has the potential to be an excellent signing for Southampton, but their fans are already concerned that Liverpool will take him off their hands next summer.

Le Tissier's cheeky dig at Liverpool goes viral

Matt Le Tissier, the Southampton legend who works as a pundit for Sky Sports, dropped a brilliant tweet following Lemina’s signing - and it’s gone viral.

He tweeted: “Welcome to @SouthamptonFC @LeminaM_13 and good luck on your next move to Liverpool next year 😉😂.”

A cheeky little dig at Liverpool for always raiding his beloved Saints for their new signings.
