Dagenham captain Mark Arber scored the only goal as Dagenham moved top of League Two with a 1-0 win over Accrington.
Arber was left unmarked at the far post to head home Danny Green's corner in the 39th minute to settle a lively game.
However John Still's side had defender Scott Doe to thank for two goal-line clearances as he denied Bobby Grant from close-range and kept out a Jimmy Ryan blast from the edge of the area with goalkeeper Tony Roberts stranded.
The crossbar also saved the visitors when winger John Miles rifled an effort against the upright after good build-up play from Michael Symes and Ryan.
Daggers keeper Roberts pulled off a diving save to keep out a point-blank Grant header while, at the other end, Stanley stopper Ian Dunbavin acrobatically kept out a Paul Benson effort.
Stanley had lost just one of their previous seven games at home but it was Dagenham who secured a vital three points in their promotion push.
