Oh, Premier League football, how we’ve missed you.

The 2017-18 season kicked off tonight with an absolute humdinger of a match between Arsenal and Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners took the lead in the second minute through summer signing Alexandre Lacazette, but Shinji Okazaki silenced the home fans three minutes later by netting a surprise equaliser.

Jamie Vardy then put the Foxes ahead on the half-hour mark, but Danny Welbeck ensured the two sides went into the half-time interval all square with a close-range tap-in.

However, despite conceding an equaliser on the stroke of half-time, it was Craig Shakespeare’s side who took the lead shortly after the break through Vardy, who netted his second goal of the match.

Arsenal fans on social media were heavily critical of two players, in particular: Granit Xhaka and Petr Cech.

But two goals in the last two minutes from Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud turned the game on its head and earned the hosts all three points.
